Romsey Arts Festival 2011

Eligibility

The Festival Poetry Competition is open to adults  (aged 18 or over). This is a festival of local talents and entrants should be resident within 20 miles of Romsey. Submitted poems must not have been already published. Submitted poems are acknowledged to be the copyright of each individual entrant and by submitting a poem competitors give the competition organiser permission to publish the winning entries.

Submission

Please submit one poem up to 40 lines in length on a subject of your choice. The poem should be presented on a single sheet of A4 paper. On a separate sheet of paper write your name, address, contact telephone number, date of birth and the name of your poem. If you want your poem returned please enclose an SAE.

Results

The winning poems will be announced and published on the website during July 2011. Prizes will be presented to the winners at the closing ceremony at the Abbey United Reformed Church - see www.romseyartsfestival.org.uk Participants poems will be displayed in Romsey library during the Festival. Judges to be announced. Prizes will be awarded to those, who in the judges opinion have written the best crafted poetry. There will be a first, second and third prize donated by our sponsor, ISL Office Solutions  

The judges are Shaun Aquilina (Hampshire poet of the year), Con Connell (Southampton Football Club poet in residence), and Angela Hicken (Literature Officer for Hampshire County Council).
